The story of the restoration of a 1950s classic bicycle for a Land's End – John O'Groats charity ride in aid of Alzheimer's Society
I’ve been persuaded that it’s a good idea to post some video of the ride when it happens (only a couple of months to go, now!) So I’ve bought a tiny little GoPro camera (called the Hero4 Session, for some bizarre reason). It’s a neat little 3cm cube which produces remarkably good quality video. In principle, I should be able to upload the files to my phone and then post it on this blog, but I haven’t managed that yet. It all works fine with a laptop, but I’m not going to lug that from one end of the country to the other.
Anyway, just to prove it works, here’s an excerpt from my commute to work this morning. I attached the camera to the lamp bracket on the front forks, to keep the handlebars as free as possible – I think the low viewpoint is quite interesting. I doubt this video will win any prizes, but it might cure your insomnia…
