The story of the restoration of a 1950s classic bicycle for a Land's End – John O'Groats charity ride in aid of Alzheimer's Society
In the deep mid-winter… it’s time to think about June and the delight that is Eroica Britannia.
This is a 3-day festival (June 16-18th) devoted to vintage bikes, based this year at Friden Grange near Hartington in the Peak District.
There’s a choice of three rides on Sunday June 18th – 25, 55 or 100 miles. I’ve entered me and my trusty Ellis-Briggs for the 55-mile ride. It will be wonderful. I’ll replace the modern 700c wheels that I used for LEJOG with authentic 27″ Airlite/Conloy 1950s wheels and hope that they cope with the challenge.
Book your place and come along – it’s great fun (even if it rains…)
