Old Bloke On An Old Bike

The story of the restoration of a 1950s classic bicycle for a Land's End – John O'Groats charity ride in aid of Alzheimer's Society

12 Jun 2016: Stage 1 completed

The fist day’s ride is done – a very modest 42 miles from Land’s End to Truro.

A sobering reminder at Land’s End of the need to be careful…

It started in cold sea mist but warmed up and turned into a really beautiful ride through the lovely Cornish countryside – full of short steep climbs.

Eric had a storming ride on a completely unfamiliar bike with primitive gearing…

A much tougher day tomorrow – 64 miles to Bude on the north coast of Cornwall.
