I wasn’t able to upload this post because of wifi/broadband shortcomings. I’ll try again now from Kinross.

This video was taken by Allan Wailoo when he joined me on the Ashbourne-Dore segment of stage 8. I’ve reduced the resolution to allow it to upload quickly.

We somehow got the route wrong and ended up on a long climb with sections as steep as 25%. I’ve never tried a significant 1-in-4 climb before, but I just about managed to keep going – to Allan’s evident surprise…
