The story of the restoration of a 1950s classic bicycle for a Land's End – John O'Groats charity ride in aid of Alzheimer's Society
The longest stage yet – 71 miles across the Scottish border to Innerleithen in the Tweed valley. Plenty of climbing (over 1500 metres) and some scary descending (max speed 35mph, despite my extreme caution). It’s nice to hear Scottish accents. Beautiful countryside and sunny weather – it really was a tremendous day. Just a shame I had no cycling companion to share it.
This brings distance covered to 696 miles, exactly two-thirds of the total.
